Position Overview: In Vivo Pharmacology Scientist
Syngene is currently seeking talented and motivated individuals to join its Discovery Services division as In Vivo Pharmacology Scientists. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about preclinical research, especially in the field of metabolic disorders and CNS-related diseases.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing in vivo efficacy studies to support preclinical drug development. The role involves hands-on work with laboratory animals, data analysis, documentation, and communication of results within a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assigned in vivo research projects focused on metabolic and CNS disorders.
- Design and implement experimental protocols using standard pharmacological techniques.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all experiments.
- Analyze data, interpret results, and report findings to supervisors and project teams.
- Work independently or in collaboration with senior scientists on therapeutic projects.
Required Educational Qualifications
Candidates must possess one of the following:
- M.Pharm in Pharmacology
- M.V.Sc in Pharmacology or Pathology
- M.Sc in Neuroscience, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology
Desired Experience and Skills (0–6 years)
- Hands-on experience with CNS disease models, including:
- Anxiety, Depression, PTSD
- Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases
- Epilepsy and Cerebral Ischemia
- Skilled in behavioral assessment, stereotaxic surgery, microdialysis, and cannulation techniques.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques like ELISA and Immunohistochemistry.
- Experience handling both rodents and non-rodents with various dosing and sampling routes.
- Strong understanding of pharmacological research and experimental design.
