ROLE SUMMARY

The Medical Content Writer in the Medical Content Writing Services team within the Global & US Medical Channel Content organization is responsible for creating global medical channel content for assigned therapeutic area(s) and/or medicine(s), including abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations, plain language summaries, slide decks, and other types of external-facing medical content

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop global medical channel content for assigned therapeutic area and/or medicine, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations, plain language summaries, slide decks, and other types of external-facing medical content
Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Medical Channel Content Leads, Medical Leads, agencies, and publication specialists to develop medical content across assigned therapeutic areas/medicines.
Create accurate and relevant medical channel content through researching, organizing, interpreting and quality checking various types of technical and/or medical information, ensuring adherence to approved templates/formats for local market adaptability as appropriate
Utilize tools such as OvidSP and other bibliographic databases such as PubMed, Medline, Embase, and Biosis to examine scientific literature for strategic medical content development.
Responsible for accuracy review and data quality control of all medical content to ensure that data is objectively and accurately represented.
Deliver all required tactics within expected timelines and budget, adhering to all SOPs and guidelines
Stay abreast of evolving trends with medical content generation to ensure industry best practices are continuously leveraged
Basic Qualifications

Technical:

Excellent scientific writing skills, including an ability to interpret and summarize complicated data effectively, concisely and persuasively.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines with strong attention to detail and follow-up with collaborators on a regular basis.
Effective influencing skills to guide decision-making for content strategy. Ability to navigate cross-functional, global teams and mentor more junior colleagues.
Experience with software commonly used to present and analyze data (eg, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and reference management tools such as EndNote)
Strong understanding of statistical principles used in medical research and familiarity with epidemiologic principles

Educational:

High fluency in written English and spoken English.
Post-graduate/ Doctorate degree in life sciences/Pharmacy/Medical sciences or equivalent degrees.
3 to 6 years relevant experience for medical graduates/PhDs. More than 6 years relevant experience for masters in life sciences.
Minimum 3 years of experience in publication writing in academic settings/ communications experience within an agency, CRO, Pharma / Biotech Company.
Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in assigned therapeutic areas
ISMPP-CMPP® certification
