About the Role
The Clinical Database Designer will work with the Biometrics team to develop and maintain clinical database specifications, eCRFs, edit checks, and project-level reports. The role involves collaboration with Data Managers, Clinical Database Programmers, Sponsors, and internal and external project teams throughout the clinical database lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain eCRF and Edit Check Specification standard templates according to CDISC standards.
- Develop and maintain eCRF specifications from database build through database lock, including change requests.
- Review study protocols and customize library eCRFs according to study requirements.
- Develop and maintain Edit Check Specifications to ensure collected data is complete, logical, and aligned with protocol requirements.
- Perform validation and UAT of eCRFs and edit checks, testing and documenting possible data-entry scenarios.
- Work closely with Data Managers and Sponsors to ensure eCRFs are clearly understood and the EDC database meets study expectations.
- Collaborate with Clinical Database Programmers to ensure specifications are technically feasible.
- Design and develop customized project-level reports using EDC reporting tools such as Business Objects and JReview.
- Lead internal eCRF specification review meetings.
- Lead external project team meetings and explain technical design decisions and available options to Sponsors.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
- At least 1 year of experience in building specifications and/or performing UAT for EDC databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional clinical research teams.
